Bandwidth throttle

Overview​

We implemented a bandwidth throttle on our AccelByte Development Toolkit (ADT) Web to manage network congestion. When too many users are simultaneously transferring data over a network, it can become congested and slow down, resulting in a poor user experience. When you implement bandwidth throttling, ADT Web can limit the amount of data users transfer over the network. This helps reduce network congestion and ensures that all users can access their fair share of bandwidth.

Instructions​

To use a bandwidth throttle, follow these steps.

  1. Log in to ADT Web.
  2. Go to Options. Click the Gear icon on the top right, beside Account.
  3. The Bandwidth Throttle setting is below the Local Cache field. By default, it's set to No limit on bandwidth. No limit on bandwidth default setting
  4. Click the Limit bandwidth to radio button. In the field under Minimum speed value is 1000 KB/s, type any value over 1000 KB and select the Measurement Value from the dropdown next to your entry (KB, MB, or GB). Click Save. When you start to download the build, the system implements the limit. Limit Bandwidth to dialog
  5. If you change the limit mid-download, the download pauses. Changes will apply after the download resumes.
